This project included repair work to the structure. The new color scheme of silver-gray and charcoal improves the Library's visibility in the neighborhood.
New furniture was provided for the adult reading nook as the existing furniture could no longer be refurbished. The project included a table and chairs for group work, several types of comfortable seating for individual patrons, and a coffee table.
Library staff requested a button-making kit to make pin-on buttons for special programs or events and a chalkboard for the teen nook to allow for creative expression. The Librarian requested a new laptop computer to replace an outdated slow computer that was used during special programs.
Over the last 50 years the Library has served an important resource to the community. While the Library's services have grown and changed over the years, the exterior remained the same. This project sought to enhance the Library's community outreach efforts by providing needed outdoor space for Library and public programs, it also added to the Library's beauty with brick work and landscaping.
